Bryant holds annual diversity contest

The Diversity Council hosted the "What does Diversity mean to you?" contest in Bello Grand Hall this past Wednesday, the 2nd of April. While the contest had more submissions than 10, at the contest only 10 different pieces were presented. They included: powerpoints, essays, videos, art work, and poetry.

Dean named to RI council for humanities

David Lux, the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, was recently appointed to the Rhode Island Council for Humanities (RICH). "I'm pleased, flattered, and honored to be selected," commented Dean Lux. RICH is an advisory group drawn from the Rhode Island community that includes educational, business, and non-profit organizations.

Russian scholar visits Bryant

Transition was the word of the evening Tuesday, April 8th as Sergei Khrushchev, son of Nikita Khrushchev, spoke in Papitto on the current developments occurring in Russia. Khrushchev commented on the transition from Yeltsin to Putin, communist society to democratic society, and a corrupt government to a cleaner one.

Survivor series: cancer never sleeps

The theme of each Relay for Life event is "Cancer Never Sleeps." Those who have cancer battle it day and night. It is a physical as well as an emotional fight. Each individual who participates in the Relay walk around the track all night is symbolically fighting back against cancer.

Lessons from the trenches

Bryant University's entrepreneurial minded members received first hand knowledge from actual entrepreneurs last Thursday during the panel discussion, Entrepreneurship: Lessons from the Trenches. The panel included Bryant Alumni John Boccuzzi '90 who is the CEO of Kenosia Corporation, a software company in Danbury, CT; David Fusari '89 the Chief Technology Officer of Sentillion Inc.

Pride hosts first gay film festival

Bryant Pride hosted the inaugural gay film festival in the Papitto Dining Room between the days of March 31st and April 3rd. It was co-sponsored by the Diversity Council of Champions. Each showing took place at 7 pm with various refreshments being served.
